Persimmon: H1 2006 trading statement
Persimmon, the housebuilder released a positive trading update for the half year to June 2006. The company said like-for-like sales reservations were up 7% while sales revenue (bookings for the full year) was around £2.4bn (H1 2005: £1.78bn).

Persimmon, the housebuilder reported a 5.9% increase in pre-tax profits for the year to December 2005 (to £495.4m). Operating margins at 23.1% were slightly weaker than lat year (23.4%) but respectable nevertheless. Completions rose to12,636 houses (2004: 12,360) at an average selling price of 180,892 (2004: £172,431).

Housebuilder Persimmon said pre-tax profits for the half year to June 2005 rose by 7% to £235m. Turnover increased by 10% to £1.1bn, due to higher average prices (£183,581 against £171,082 last year) but completions dropped slightly to 5,954 units compared to 6,058 last year.
