Diageo continued similar growth to last year in the first half of the current year (six months to December 2005). Organic volume growth of 5% and sales growth of 5% (excluding duties) were slightly better than last year. Organic pre-exceptional operating profit growth was unchanged at 7%.

Diageo managed moderate growth in 2005 (for the full year to June) with organic increases of 3% and 4% in volumes and sales (excluding excise duties) respective.
