Amvescap: Q1 results
Amvescap, a fund manager reported that pretax profits for Q1 rose by 54% to $171.7m, boosted by performance fees of $33.2m. Performance fees in the same period last year were only $4.7m. Operating profit for Q1 2006 rose to $186.6m (2005: $129.2m).

Amvescap reported a 20% decline in pre-tax profits, below market expectations, for the first quarter of 2005. Pre-tax profits reported were £59.1m down from £73.6m last year and turnover declined marginally to £286m (2004:£288m).
